ThiruUraiyur - Azhagiya Manavaalan

Last week, I had a great Sowbhagyam of visiting Divyadesams around Trichy. Myself and my dad started off to Trichy last Friday and reached there around 3:00 PM. One of my dad's friend told us that he had booked a room in Maayavaram lodge but due to some miscommunication we ended up having a room in another place near Central Bus Stand. We booked a cab for the trip which would include

1.Srirangam
2. Uraiyur
3. Uthamar Koil
4. Thiruvellaarai
5. Anbil
6. Koviladi
We had a very nice and efficient driver who took us to all the places irrespective of time shortage. First stop on Friday was Uraiyur.
Uraiyur : The speciality of this temple is Namperumal of Srirangam is the utsavar for this temple and will come and stay here at Uraiyur and will marry the Thaayar in Panguni Uthiram. Had a very good dharshan of Perumal and Thaayar. Thaayar purappadu alangaram was about to happen and we rushed to see the Perumal and Thaayar. But Azhagiya Manavaalan was so kind enough to wait till this puny adiyen to get his pratyaksham. We did an archana for our family and we came out for Prakara Pradarshanam.. We could see lot of paintings getting defaced and none of them are being maintained properly. Then we started for Srirangam..

Thiruppavai - The epitome of Bhakti and Saranagathi

            The works of Azhwars are collectively known as Naalayira Divya Prabandham. Out of the 12 azhwars, one azhwar is a little girl who lived in this Bhooloka no more than 10 years. In these 10 years, she sang 2 prabandas, Tiruppavai and Naachiyar Thirumozhi. Tiruppavai is hailed to be one of the important text in the Sri Vaishnava Ramanuja Sampradaya and is included in Nithya anu sandhaanam.                   Aandal was named Kothai by birth and she was found under Tulasi maadam in the garden of Periazhwar. She was born Ayonija  which means without a stay in human womb. Srimad Azhagiya Singar thiruvadigale saranam Ramanuja Dayaapatram Gnana vairagya Bhushanam Srimad Venkatanaadaryam vande vedanta desikam Adiyen is on a deputation to London and with Sriyapathi's unconditional mercy the place where i stay is very near to Mahalakshmi temple in London. Last week, adiyen was blessed to witness Sita Kalyanam in Mahalakshmi temple. Day started as usual, waking up at 5:30 in the morning and having a head bath. Phew!! In that temperature, i was literally shivering.. Anyways,chanted aadityahridayam and started for work. It was in the afternoon, i realised that it may get late to start from work and witness Sita Kalyanam.. I prayed to my favourite god venkateswara and behold the meeting which supposed to happen at 4:30 got cancelled but got stuck up with some other work.
