World is a Stage - 4

Student: What are Upanishads? Why do they gain prominence? Teacher: Upanishads are the ultimate end point of vedas. While Vedas deal with the Karmas that needs to be performed, Upanishads deal with the ultimate knowledge, the knowledge of Brahmam. These Upanishads are many in number and they talk about Brahmam and its qualities. Student: Kindly tell me about Brahmam? Teacher: There is a single way to tell about Brahmam.. Experience it.. Vedas and Upanishads have dealt with Brahmam a lot. There were great philosophers and seers who wrote commentary or prose on Upanishads. They interpreted Vedas and upanishads and have provided the knowledge. But there are differences in interpretation. Student: What are the differences in interpretation? Teacher: Lot of people wrote commentary on nature of Brahmam, its relationship with Jeevatma and other objects in this universe. Among these, 3 of them are more prominent. Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhvacharya. These three philosophers were great think...

Student: Wow.. But Modern day science differ in their view point? Teacher: Who said? modern day science also accepts the concept of Satkaaryavaada. Meaning, there must be something to create something, something cannot be created from nothing. Therefore that something from which this universe is created is called Brahmam. But, they are using Pratyaksha Pramaana and anumaana pramaana to understand Brahmam. Student:But you said Pratyaksha Pramaana and anumaana pramaana will lead to a wrong conclusion? Teacher: Yes. Modern day science tries to establish this using lot of theories and concepts. String Theory, God's particle called Higgs Boson etc. But my argument is this. These are wonderful concepts..But they cant explain the root cause of the creation. It will lead to endless analysis Student: Why? Teacher: Simple concept, How can u measure an immeasurable attribute using measurable attribute? Your eyes, mind and all senses of organs are limited attributes. They can see or hear or fee...

Student: If Vedas proclaim that there is only one Brahman but people claim that their favourite god as Brahman. Which one is right? Teacher: There is only one Brahman and that Brahman is none other than Sriman Narayana. He is the creator, protector of this creation. Rest of the gods naturally report to him. Let me quote an example: All of us have heard of Gajendra Moksham story. Gajendra, when in trouble did not shout Vishnu or Shiva or Devi. He just shouted “Adi Moolame” which means “One who is base”. Did Shiva come for Gajendra’s rescue? Did Devi come? It was Sriman Narayana who came to the rescue of Gajendra. Even Shiva advises Parvati to sing Sri Rama Ramethi Rame Raame Mano rame. Therefore, Sriman Narayana is Brahman and none other than him can claim the position. Student: Sriman Narayana is Brahmam. What is the cause for the creation of this srishti? Teacher: It is an esoteric question that you are asking and our Sastras have answer to this question. In order to create a...
