World is a Stage - 2
Student: If Vedas proclaim that there is only one Brahman but people claim that their favourite god as Brahman. Which one is right?
Teacher: There is only one Brahman and that Brahman is none other than Sriman Narayana. He is the creator, protector of this creation. Rest of the gods naturally report to him. Let me quote an example: All of us have heard of Gajendra Moksham story. Gajendra, when in trouble did not shout Vishnu or Shiva or Devi. He just shouted “Adi Moolame” which means “One who is base”. Did Shiva come for Gajendra’s rescue? Did Devi come? It was Sriman Narayana who came to the rescue of Gajendra. Even Shiva advises Parvati to sing Sri Rama Ramethi Rame Raame Mano rame. Therefore, Sriman Narayana is Brahman and none other than him can claim the position.
Student: Sriman Narayana is Brahmam. What is the cause for the creation of this srishti?
Teacher: It is an esoteric question that you are asking and our Sastras have answer to this question. In order to create a product, you need 3 causes or Kaarana. They are
1)Nimitta Kaaranam
2)Upaadana Kaaranam
3) Sahakaari Kaaranam
Upaadana Kaaranam – A potter is preparing a pot. Here, mud is the raw material and is the nimitta karanam. The Raw material is the nimitta kaaranam
Nimitta Kaaranam – To create a pot, a potter is required and is one of the causes. He is called as Nimitta Kaaranam .
Sahakaari Kaaranam – To create a pot, a potter wheel is required. In this case, it is called as Sahakaari Kaaranam.
In the case of Srishti, Brahman is all three. Brahman is Nimitta,Upaadana and Sahakaari Karanam.
Student: How is Brahman is Nimitta Karanam?
When the Srishti contracts into Brahman, nothing exists in this world except Brahman. If nothing is there, then where from does Brahman creates? Brahman by his will power expands by itself thus becoming Nimitta Karanam. Who does it? Its Brahmam and it is the Upaadana Kaaranam. Everything is Brahmam and it is the Sahakaari Kaaranam.
Student: But Four-headed Brahma is called the God of Creation. But how does Sriman Narayana create this Srishti?
Brahmam : There are two types of creation. They are called as 1)Samasthi Srishti 2) Vyashti Srishti. Samasthi Srishti is creation without bringing Brahma. Vyashti Srishti is creation by Brahma. Brahma is not a name for a specific individual, it is a designated post. Anyone can become a Brahma. Even Brahma has a life time. There are about 14 billion Brahma. This Srishti is divided into separate egg shaped objects called Anda Kadaagam. Every Anda Kadaagam has a Brahma and indra and other devatas. But who created all these? It is none other than Sriman Naarayana.
Student: Kindly enlighten me about Samashti Srishti?
Teacher: Samasthi Srishti is otherwise known as Adwaraka Srishti. This Srishti is created without the intervention of Brahma. Bhagavan takes a will saying that “I am going to expand and be this universe”. Then he creates Moola Prakrithi. The Moola Prakrithi is the base of the universe. From Moola Prakrithi, Mahan is created. This Mahan is then becomes Ahamkaaram. This Ahamkaaram then divides into three Ahamkaaras. They are called as Sattvika Ahamkaraa, Rajasa Ahamkaara and Taamasa Ahamkaara.
Student: Where do we find these substances today?
Teacher : In Chemistry, we know that there are few reactions which are multi-stepped and finally form a product. Do the intermediate product is available at last? No right. In the same way, these are intermediate steps in the creation. Listen further
Teacher: These Ahamkaaras then gets divided into Pancha bhuthas namely Vayu,Water, Agni, Aakasam, Bhumi. Then Bhagavan mixes these Pancha bhuthas to form Pancha Tanmatras. These Pancha Tanmatras further forms into Karma indriyangal (motor organs) and Jnana indriyangal (organs which can feel). Then he creates Manas.
Student : So, all these 23 tatvams are created by Bhagavan?
Teacher : Yes, all these 23 tatvams are created by Bhagavan. The 24 tatvam is called Jeevatma. So Bhagavan Sriman Narayana creates the first Jeevatma. The Jeevatma is none other than four faced Brahma. Please note that everyone except Sriman Narayana is a Jeevatma and Kesava is only Paramatma.
Student: Wow, so how is this world created?
Teacher: Brahma is created through the navel of Bhagavan. The navel of Bhagavan is shaped in the form of lotus and therefore he is called as Padmanaabha. Brahma meditates on Sriman Narayaana and further creates this Srishti. Therefore, Brahma created all these Fauna ,floras and all these universe.
